Running macro using excel connector

Hi,

For my project, I have tried to run a macro using pega openspan excel connector. Time duration for macro to complete is 28 minutes. But if I run the same macro triggered manually, macro completes the result in just 3 minutes. Would like to know why Pega Openspan takes 28 minutes to complete the execution whereas if the user directly triggers macro entire process gets completed in just 3 minutes. Kindly suggest your opinions.
