Restrict filetypes of documents which are to be attached to the case

Issue:

Restrict uploading certain filetypes such as *.DOCX.

 

Possible solution:

Ensure file types are restricted by adding a when rule or decision table to the SetAttachmentProperties activity to evaluate whether a document type is allowed.

 

Question:

Looking for successfully implemented examples.

Hi Bob,

One of the options is to use OOTB extension activity Data-WorkAttach-File  ID: CallVirusCheck and set param.VirusCheckStatus to "Virus" when the extension of .pxAttachName is not from the list of allowed once. This activity is called at all places where the files can be uploaded in Pega, including Pulse, so it's a good way to have generic logic across the environment. You will likely need to customise the validation message shown though, as I believe it will mention viruses by default and it's not true in your use case.
