Reading file from FTP Server

We have requirement to read file from FTP server.

Generally,

1. Connect to FTP server from PEGA

2.Copy the file from FTP server to PEGA server location

3.Read the file content which is copied to PEGA server location

Is it possible that directly I connect to FTP server and read the file ?

I wan't to avoid copying step from FTP to PEGA server. is it possible ?
