Privileges of Modules in Cordiant Marketing Director
Hi,
Do you have any documentation on the Privileges of Modules in Cordiant Marketing Director? I need to setup my user access for them to execute campaign.
Regards.

Hi,
You can have a look at Marketing_Director_Ongoing_Task_WIN.pdf which is available in the Marketing Director Product CD. You can find this pdf @ \Documentation\Installation\PostInstallation. If this document doesn't provide your requirement. Please let us know, we will try to answer your queries.

Hello Shri,
This is the user’s security setting page in Cordiant Marketing Director. I am interested in what does each access for each module means, what the sort of things the user can access and do.
Is the access passed down to the user in a group?
FYI, I am accessing the test environment, I am still not able to access the production using Administrator.

Hi Taw Sem,
The detailed information is available in the online help. I have pasted the content as below
Owner , Group and All are general terms that refer to the classification of user who creates objects.
Default access levels are set for customer data views and modules and apply to objects that are created within them.
The available values for access are:
· None
· Read
· Execute
· Save
· Delete
The access levels exist as a hierarchy. This means that selection of a value automatically includes the values above it.
For example:

For example:
· if the level is set at Delete for Owner, access is available to the user to delete, save, execute and read any of their own objects within the particular customer data view/module
· if the level is set at Execute for Group, users have access to execute and read any objects that are created by other members of their group within the particular customer data view/module
· if the level is set at Read for All, users only have access to read any object within the particular customer data view/module.
The default levels can be refined for user groups and users, but only to levels that are lower than the default levels.

Hello Shri,
I am pondering what does each module and what does each access mean.
E.g. For attribute, if I am not wrong, it is storing information only, and to be display in Campaign definition when necessary. So why is there an “Execute” privilege in the access?
In addition, what is the different between the module “Campaign Shedule Overview” and “Schedule Manager”?
For Schedule Manager, 1) I set the user access (across the board) to “Execute”, he can only queue, or suspend; he cannot change the timing to “Execute now”. 2) Then I set the access to “Save”, he can change the timing and save, but he cannot queue the campaign. 3) I finally set the access to “Delete”, there he can change the timing, save, queue, and suspend. Am I missing something?
I am trying to set up a new view for our user. They only need to modify the Treatment elements (to customize SMS message) and to execute the campaign (Set date/time of next run, queue, and suspend). The campaign is prebuild by us. What is the minimal access that we need to grant to them?

Hi Taw Sern,
Query 1. what does each module and what does each access mean?
Modules are different functionalities available under a component.
For example: Channel component has four modules namely: Treatments, Extract Templates, Delivery Channels and eSettings.
Access means the different ways of usage of these CMD modules, an admin wish to provide for a set of users like owner, group or all.
Different access available are none, read, execute, save, delete. And these access holds good to users in a particular group or all as set by the owner/admin.Admin has the ability to prioritize on access to different users under a particular user group defined.
Query 2.
E.g. For attribute, if I am not wrong, it is storing information only, and to be display in Campaign definition when necessary. So why is there an “Execute” privilege in the access?
“Execute” access is set for users to have access to execute and read any objects that are created by other members of their group within the particular customer data view/module but cannot modify it.

“Execute” access is set for users to have access to execute and read any objects that are created by other members of their group within the particular customer data view/module but cannot modify it.
Attribute module provides the user with the ability to define and maintain reference information used in creating campaigns or their components. Attributes have information that could be manipulated as needed but to avoid accidental modification by non-admins, access is set to “execute”.
In simple scenario, a campaign could be seen by the group members and executed (rescheduled) but cannot be modified which could be useful where campaign is predefined with required functionality.
Query 3.
I am trying to set up a new view for our user. They only need to modify the Treatment elements (to customize SMS message) and to execute the campaign (Set date/time of next run, queue, and suspend). The campaign is prebuild by us. What is the minimal access that we need to grant to them?
Treatment as a whole can only be provided access to be modified with “delete” access. But separate access to Treatment elements specific is not available. And you may provide “execute” access to the campaign that is predefined by you so as to avoid modification by users.
Query 4: In addition, what is the different between the module “Campaign Schedule Overview” and “Schedule Manager”?
Schedule Manager module allows you to control and inspect the execution of the various Marketing Director processes like Task groups, Batch and campaigns.
Task Groups are created and maintained in this module. Here you can group related processes and set the execution to be repeated on a cyclical basis. The execution of the processes in a task group can be set as parallel or sequential. Campaigns are created and maintained in their own module but are scheduled here. Individual campaign cycle processes can be re-scheduled here. Batch processes are single runs triggered from various modules but each process can be maintained and re-scheduled here.
Campaign Schedule Overview module is a browser application within Marketing Director. It offers central marketers and administrators the ability to view a list of components for a particular campaign cycle, or a list of components running on one particular day. It can be used by marketers to consider the business effects of the concurrent processing, and by system administrators to oversee the data traffic.

Hello Yoga,
I tried reply your to your email as what I have done previously to your colleagues on other issues. I do not why your email id is not configured to receive outside mail. This is the error I received:
Generating server: meshutil.rpega.com [email protected] meshapp1.rpega.com #address unknown.> #SMTP#
Just another sidetrack, I am not able edit in the "Full Editor" mode, I can only edit in "HTML" format. Not sure what is the issue.
Back to the main topic.
I wish to set it up such that they can only update the SMS Message Content (Treatment-->Elements), Seed List, and scheduling of campaign (queue-change to current date, suspend, and save). I do not wish to let them touch the other modules to mess up our campaign.
Attached is the various access that I have grant I tried to grant the access for the group as seen in the “exception” but it results in user not able to login into Cordiant Marketing Director.
With this setup, the user can still access some other modules, e.g. Response Models, Data view, etc. Please advise which setting I should modify so that they can only access the above mention modules.
For your better understanding of my needs, I have also included the modules used in the campaign (I manually draw it, is there anyway of system generating this diagram?)
