Pega7.2 server installation issue
Hi,
We are installing pega 7.2 instances in Windows server 2008 (tomcat/oracle)
It got installed fine and is working in one server but not in another server. Followed the same steps but still its failing.
PegaGUI installer failed with "unable to find prlogging.xml, some seriours error in the setup...."
So we tried a DB copy from the working server to another instance and DB copy was successful.
Server is now starting but could see loads of error saying "unable to find prlogging.xml....keyring...etc", also cannot able to open
any class instances which throws the below error
java.lang.String cannot be cast to [Ljava.lang.Object;
I searched in PDN and found that we need to add few entries in prlogging.xml but the issue here is the system cannot find the file itself.
I can able to locate the file under tomcat/webapps/prweb/web-inf/classes.
Have also verified all the user access settings, but of no use.
Am i missing something please?
DB: Oradcle 10g
OS: Windows Server 2008
WS: Tomcat 7.0
Java: jdk 1.6

Hello Dheena,
It seems that the below minimum required configuration for Pega 7.2 aren't met:
- DB: Oracle 11g R2, Oracle 12c
- Java: Java SE 7(Oracle)

Hi Pawan,
But with the same infra settings pega72 is working fine in another server. Not sure why :(
Will try with the above settings now and update on the proceedings.

Hi Dheena,
Could you share the full stack trace? Also if you are installing afresh, you can copy stack trace from GUI installer error tab.
Follow these steps:
- Re-save prlogging.xml
- Upload file to server at TOMCAT_ROOT\webapps\prweb\WEB-INF\classes
- Run activity Code- • RefreshLogConfiguration

Observe, if you are able to see log messages or the things rectified.

Hi Dheena,
Ideally, it should pick the prlogging.xml from the mentioned path under WEB-INF. I am not sure, why it is not able to load.
Though, from stack trace it could be observed that the location of the execution before loading prlogging.xml is
"file:/D:/Pega72/webapps/prweb/WEB-INF/classes/prbootstrap.properties"
While after execution of the bootstrap.properties, it changes to Current "user.dir" (default directory) is: D:\Pega72\bin and an
MalformedURLException exception could be observed because of that.
Could you compare bootstrap.properties file from both the environment? Or is there any delta between two environments configuration?
