Installation issue in Pega 7.1.7

Hi Team,

 

Few months before i installed Pega 7.1.7 without any issue and was working on the excerise. Recently i had issues in my system, so i downloaded the Pega 7.1.7 again and tried to install . But when i click the Install.BAT file to install the Pega 7.1.7 i'm getting the below error.

"Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\Janaki\AppData\Local\Temp\wzfe9c\jdk1.7.0_71\bin\java' Make sure you typed the name correctly , and then try again " .

 

A) I downloaded Pega 7.1.7 in E drive and i have Jdk1.7.0._71 also in E drive , but when i click the Install.BAT file i'm getting the above error message which is showing it as "C" drive . Can some one help me to know when i click the Install.BAT file by default how it is refering the above the path and from where it is getting this path.

 

B) Aswell could you please let me know before Installing PEGA in our system, do i need to Install JAVA in my system, bcz in the Zip file which i downloaded for pega 7.1.7 also holds the Jdk Proprietary information hidden file.

As of my knowledge it would be better to have jdk installed and JAVA_HOME and Path needs to be set on environment variables before trying to install PRPC.

Hi Senthil, Before installing JDK 1.7, make sure whether the installation exists on your system. From command prompt, execute Java command and check whether it shows java usage commands. if that's case, check you existing JAVA_HOME by executing echo %JAVA_HOME% before running install.bat If JDK 1.7 is not available in your system, set the JAVA_HOME to JDK 1.7 folder that came with the installer package and try executing install.bat Thanks, Gobi
