Pega Robotic studio 19.1.90 installation issue - VS studio 2015 Update 3

when trying to install 19.1.90 getting issue with the prerequisite for Visual studio update 3

I am running it as administrator. I tried to run vs2015.3.exe as administrator. I also tried to install vsupdate_kb3022398 as administrator getting the same error with all 3 attempts

I encountered the same issue and here is how I solved it -

 

Reason of the issue -

PEGA installer package doesn't come with a copy of VS studio 2015 Update 3 installer. Rather, it follows a predefined download link to MSDN which is now expired; Microsoft actually archived the 2015 installer to a different location on their server, causing this trouble. Workaround -

1. You need to register yourself to MSDN.

2. Download the installer file from MSDN by following the link mentioned in the aforementioned thread.

3. Install it manually.

4. Now try to continue with the PEGA installer.
