Pega Desktop Personal edition is failing to run even after successful installation

I have downloaded desktop personal edition from the link : https://community1.pega.com/digital-delivery in the form of a ZIP folder which i got extracted and installed without error but after running the start server and opening the pega platform application it is unable to connect.

please help me out.
