Pega 8.8.2 - ow many CPUs the database server should have for good performance
We are running Pega 8.8.2 on-premise on DB2 database. In the database the CPU utilization is consistently reaching 100 percent. The database server has one CPU.
Please inform how many CPUs or cores the database server should have to get optimal performance for an application with high number of cases.

There's no perfect answer for this question since you need to consider several parameters.
Your CPU can be 100% used for other reasons than this single CPU.
No blocking sessions? no huge queries? no full table scan? proper indexing used?
not too many user? no network latency ? no issue with the DB disk? no network issues?
Is this a sudden issue? was it working before?
Is this issue for Prod?
If for Prod, a single CPU sounds small indeed but how to size your infra cannot be answered without knowing number of transactions, users, batch, etc...
As an immediate solution, add CPU (1, 2, or even 3) and you'll see whether it improves overall performance
