Pega 8.2 Platform Memory Utilization
Hello,
We continue to have our users/clients bring up the fact our internal Pega Platform 8.2 server seems to respond slowly and move very sluggish like. We have configured the server with the following settings:

2 CPU's
20GB Memory
80GB Storage
12GB Heap size
8GB for Native Memory
Initial Heap Size (Xms) - 6GB
Maximum Heap Size (Xmx) - 12 GB
----------------------------
I've been monitoring the actual CPU utilization on the server and it seems to stay at a 2GB threshold and doesn't utilize any more. Any idea why this could be happening? Are there any settings/configurations other than the JVM settings that can be configured to allow maximum CPU utilization? Thanks.

Hi ,
You can try with heap size increase i.e. increase initial heap size with 8+ GB and maximum heap size with 16+ GB and then restart node and check once.

Hi,
Memory utilization for a period needs to checked through logs, alerts.
Do utilize PDC as well.
w.r.t memory parameters, I believe, maxmetaspace ( if JDK > 8) should be 3GB ( 1/4 of max heap).

Hi,
Slowness of any application does not depends upon only heap size.There are many factors which can cause application slowness.You will get clear picture after analysing rules and alert logs.
Kindly raise a SR with Pega GCS as I would not recommend you to share these logs here due to customer's security concern.
