Memory utilization increase in server

We have 3 nodes in application server (Tomcat) and linux. We are using sitescope tool for monitoring and Memory thresholds are increasing frequently. Thresholds set 60% for warning and 70% for error in Sitescope.

Can you please suggest here to better options to reduce memory?

Is it better to go with monthly maintenance (i.e service restart to clear memory) of the application or increase sitescope threshold value 70% warning and 80% for error?
