Parameter Passing via dropdown selection

Here is my scenario

Section 0: Contains both section 1 and 2

Section 1: has a drop down for filtering data displayed in section 2.

Section 2: data set being displayed in a repeating grid. Filtered when the dropdown changes

How would I implement his?
