open assignment in review/perform mode
in assign-workbasket list when the user picks the assignment it needs to open in review/perform based on condition . I tried modifying performdefaults to change the harness type but after that the harnesstype is hardcoded in ootb activity Perform. tried with access roles but its opening the NOID harness in assign- which is hardcoded in ootb acitivity
Any way to do this ..

You can probably try to show the list of assignments in workbasket via a grid and then configure the onclick action of the grid row in such a way that it checks and flag and opens it in either perform or review mode.

Do not add code in PerformDefaults activity. As @santanu said, when you are iterating through grid, you can have a column with link/button in a tiny section with two layouts in that and both will be dispalyed on your condition.
PerformDefaults will be execued only when harness is rendering in perform mode (harness name also needs to be perofmr - you can check). This Extention is not meant for this purpose.
