Offline app: newly created case does not appear in recent items list

We are working on the offline mobile app. We noted that - after you create a new case in the app - that this newly created case (after synchronization) does not appear in the list of recent items (nor is an instance of System-User-Recents created).

Is this per design?

Offline-enabled applications do not support recents. These should update properly for the particular operator, however, when she/he uses a regular web browser.
