Model using recommendation champion prediction

I am trying to create a product recommendation model using the champion prediction template provided in Pega Prediction Studio. I am not able to figure out whether this has to be a binary or a spectrum and also how can I map one product that is recommended against an ID.

Please share if there are some links for the same.
