Migrating Pega 7.3.1 App from Websphere to Tomcat

Does Pega 7.3.1 supported by tomcat (open source). If yes, are there any limitations like JMS might not work etc. And if does not work, are there any plugins?

I learned that Tomcat EE (TomEE) does support and there are not limitations. And this what is using on Pega Cloud.

But as I mentioned, I am trying to find out if base Tomcat will support.

I did check the platform support guide. Guide is not specific when it comes to tomcat. It says that Apache Tomcat 7 (and 8) are supported but does not mentioned if it is open source tomcat or the TomEE?
