Locking upon calling Local Action

Hello,

I have the scenario where once a link is clicked "Related MM" Local action is luanched and thus creating a lock. I don't want the lock to be created. Local Action "LinkedModuleMapsAction" calls a report definition to be displayed into a modal dialog. Is there is anyway to call the modal dialog without luanching a local action to avoid creating a lock?

Why do you think the lock is created in the first place ?

Is the local action launched from a grid which is displaying list of assignments or work objects ?
