JMS Connection Pooling (Pega is deployed as WAR in JBoss)
Hi,
We are on Pega 7.3.1 deployed on JBoss EAP 6.4 (as a WAR file). How does Pega manage JMS connection pooling for Connect-JMS. My understanding is Pega creates new connection for every Connect-JMS call and there is no OOTB setting to control this.
How do we create a pooling around this? Installation guide suggests to update hornetq-server for connection factory pooling when deploying as EAR. What about WAR deployment?

Hi,
When using EAR deployment the JMS connection is done through MDB. When using WAR deployment the JMS connection is done through threads.

Thanks Angel. So I had thought. It's a common threadpool and tuning it will affect pretty much all the transactions, so got to be extra careful.
It would be lot more useful to just be able to define a separate pooling for outgoing connections the way we could define the pooling for DB connections.

Yes, I think you can create separate thread pools https://docs.jboss.org/jbossmessaging/docs/usermanual-2.0.0.beta1/html/thread-pooling.html but I never have done it myself in JBoss. I've done it for WebSphere and Weblogic but not with JBoss.

I have a similar question, We use Tomcat application server - Does thread pools also works for tomcat application server based applications for establishing JMS connection pool.
If yes, Can we do this with Executor in Tomcat servers as specified in below link?
