Java 8 license used by Pega

We are using Java 8 to use Pega Platform 7.4. It is necessary to upgrade Java 8, but it seems that there is a charge for commercial use from the version of Java SE 8u211. If you usually purchase the license for Pega Platform, could you tell me if the license for Java 8 is also included ? We use Oracle for DB.

Hi @kwangnamy, Oracle provides two Java Development Kit releases, an OpenJDK build under the GPL open-source license and a commercial Oracle JDK build under a paid-for license.

1. Pega-cloud uses OpenJDK which is open-source and under GPL license. See here (https://collaborate.pega.com/question/can-use-java-without-licensing)

2. Oracle JDK license is not provided,  Oracle license for Java support is needed if you wish to use Oracle JDK.   See here (https://collaborate.pega.com/question/oracle-java-supportlicensing)

Please check if you need Oracle JDK.
