Is it mandatory to install VM for installing Pega Marketing?

Hi,

I am new to pega marketing. I am trying to install the pega software. Is it really mandatory to install VM for installing pega. As I have windows 10 OS, again after installing VM, if I have to put the OS windows 10. Do we really need to install VM. Please do suggest

Hi Durgarao

The Pega Academy VMs have an OS installed (CentOS) and have the Pega Marketing environment ready for use. There is no need for you to install any OS on the VMs.

You just require the Oracle Virtual Box software to run the VM.

Vimal,

If you are referring to the environments provided as part of the Pega Academy courses; then yes, you need to install Oracle Virtual Box software (for Windows 10) to be able to run the exercise system. The details of how to configure and start the exercise system are provided in the guide. You can get the link to the guide through the course which you are currently taking.

Please note that the exercise system is a virtual environment and does not change the version of your host operating system.

Hi Akash,

 

I'm also having the same doubt. Do we need to install operating system after installing the VM? In the installation guide it's not mentioned except the configuration details.

I'm new to VM and Pega marketing as well. in the above answer you didn't confirm if OS is to be installed on VM or not.

Kindly condifrm.
