Issue with Email Listener: Getting the Errors in the logs
Hi Team,
I have configured the email Listener in our application and it is working fine.
In the logs i see errors regarding the email listener below is the logging message
ERROR EMAIL.EmailInboundAZV.Listener IS2267 - Caught javax.mail.MessagingException when attempting to get new message javax.mail.MessagingException: Connect failed;
nested exception is : javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeExcepiton: Remote host closed connection during handshake
This issue doesn't appear always, just sporadically with this error we are lossing the email messageat the point of time. that should not be happened.

That sounds like a problem outside of Pega, either with the network (or something on the network, like a load balancer) or the email server you're connecting to. Your network and email server admins will likely need to be engaged to troubleshoot that further.

When you see sporadic connection issues, it can mean that the Email Server is under too much load to allow the connection.
As Nick Loving says, a load balancer can also cause this. If some nodes are using different SSL certificates than others, you may need to install the one you are missing.

The error almost certainly indicates that there is an issue with the Mail Server's SSL Certificate. (Or a Load Balancer's SSL Certificate, as pointed out above):
javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeExcepiton: Remote host closed connection during handshake
Or it may another issue with SSL ; but the error indicates strongly that the root cause lies with SSL configuration.
I can't think of another explanation as to why this is sporadic - aside from the suggestion that there is a Load Balancer involved.
The only sure way I can think of for finding out more about this type of issue is to use Java SSL debugging.
By switching on this flag for your JVM startup:
-Djavax.net.debug=all
This will generate a *lot* of information; so try to streamline your test as much as possible (and take note of time/date of tests).
Hopefully, buried in these SSL logs will be a more description error of why the SSL Handshake is failing.
