Which Application server and database your using .

Have you checked the connection pool settings at the server level if the  pool size value is too low increase it and restart the server .

I have a guess from the above stack trace it looks like resources want to pull a connection but due to insuffiecient connections in pool connection is getting closed .

The NetException can be occur due to a data packet mismatch between data that is being sent from the database and the data being read by the Application server. "code: 17008 SQLState: 08003 Message: Closed Connection" indicates that the JDBC Connection in the pool was successfully established at some point, but when the application thread tried to use it, the connection was no longer open.

The root cause can be as follows

- The firewall between the application server and the database is timing-out the connections

Check the same with your sysdamin/network team.

- The database server itself is closing the client connections based on a set timeout.

Verify your JDBC Connection Pool configurations.
