ISSUE WITH branching

Can anyone please explain to me what's exactly branching meant for, is this supposed to be used in a team where 10-15 people are working on a single application and because of lot of conflicts are happening, so can anyone please explain me exactly what the purpose of branching, yes in PDN I saw that it is for rapid and parallel development, but please explain me exact usage of it, I mean the best practice,

Hello,

I would a say branch ruleset is the best option in order to have multiple teams working on different part of your application.

They will have their special branch ruleset to work independently and avoid conflict with the other teams during development phase.
