Integrating Agile Workbench with JIRA
Hi,
Once we integrate Agile Workbench with JIRA, we know that all the user stories and bugs get synchronized in both the systems. But in JIRA there are many fields and details associated with a user story . Will all these fields get synchronized with Agile Workbench also ? Or are there any limitations in the data or the fields shown for a particular synchronized user story in Agile Workbench.
Regards,
Rachana

Hi Rachana, thank you for your query. As part of the current integration of Agile Workbench with JIRA, we considered the following fields of JIRA:
Project, Version, User Story, Bug, Project key, Summary, Description, Priority, Assignee, Attachments, Comments, Status, Reporter.
Please let me know if you need any further information.

Hi Bandv1,
Thank you for the reply. When I try creating new user story/bug/feedback in Agile Workbench, I don't see Project,Version, Project Key ,Summary , Reporter. Will these fields appear on Agile Workbench section once after we integrate with JIRA and stories/bugs are synchronized ?
Also could you please let me know how can we achieve traceability and transperancy after integrating with JIRA? I understand that if we integrate Agile Workbench with Pega Agile Sudio, and upon associating Work Items (User Stories or Bugs) with development changes to rules using Current Work feature, we can view the same under Related updates tab in Agile Studio ( According to the article present in https://community.pega.com/sites/default/files/help_v73/procomhelpmain.htm).
But this can be achieved with JIRA integration ?

Hi Rachana,
You are correct ,you will see Jira fileds like Summary, reporter etc only when you are integrated with Jira. You can further extend the component to have other specific fields if required. However you will not explicitly see Project and version fields on bug or user story . This is because agile workbench for your application is already integrated with a specific project and version. Only bugs and stories in that specific project and version are shown in Agile Workbench after integration
Traceability and transparency can be achieved using Application Features(Please see application overview page). Work items in Agile workbench can be associated with Application features. When user checks-in a rule against a work item associated with application feature an association is created between feature and the rule. User can open Feature from application overview page and see associated rules.
Please let us know if you have need more details or have any questions

Hi Chakravarthi,
Thank you for your response. I understand from your reply that associated rules can be found in Application Overview page , once they are checked in against the related work item. However is there a provision to see the development changes in JIRA like how we have in Pega Agile Studio (Under Related Tabs) ?
Also you have mentioned that we can extend the component to have other specific fields if required. We know that the JIRA integration component uses REST services that are exposed by Atlassian for creating, fetching, updating, and deleting user stories and bugs. We can customize the component to have other specific fields only if those fields from JIRA are provided by Atlassian. Can you confirm on the fields that Atlassian is providing to Pega ?

Hi Rachana,
There is no provision to see development changes JIRA. This is present only with Pega Agile Studio integration.
JIRA services expose all the fields present in the issue screens. So if you have a custom field (ex:Story points) added to your user story screen in JIRA, you can fetch/update this field using JIRA's get/put service methods. If you try to set a field using services that is not added to Jira story screen you would get a error. Please see "https://docs.atlassian.com/jira/REST/cloud/" for more details. Please let us know if you need more details

Hi Bhusan,
Agile workbench is introduced in Pega 7.3. So integration with Jira works from PRPC 7.3 and above. Instructions on how to integrate Agile workbench with Jira are found in this document "https://docs-previous.pega.com/integrating-agile-workbench-jira-pega-platform-73x-82x"
Thank you,

Hi Chakravarthi,
Any default reporting is available in the manager portal which says how many user stories or bugs are resolved or in progress , so that development progress can be traced ?

Hi Rachana,
We do not have any reports available as of now for tracking agile workbench items progress. In Pega 7.3.1 "Application Overview" page shows progress of work items . You can see track development progress for the whole application as-well as individual features.
Thank you,
Chakravarthi
