Integrate with PegaWorks

My client is running a very old PegaWorks application.

Can PegaWorks expose a service for external applications? For example, we are building a new Pega 7.2.2 (hosted at another location) and needs to get Work Object information from PegaWorks.

If not a web service, what would be a recommended approach to integrate with PegaWorks application?
