Impact on pega application and app servers if pega database is not available for some time(5-15) minutes
Hi All,
What would be the impact on Pega application(Pega 8.x) if the pega database is down for a while and become available after sometime (say for example 5-15) minutes.
I'm seeing below issues in such cases,
a) If there are any API calls happen during this downtime, then those APIs are continued to fail even after DB is UP. They started working after clearing the existing requestor Pools
b) Sometimes few of the nodes are going into unreachable status(Can be viewed in Decisioning Services landing page). This makes cluster unstable.
What could be the best way to handle such scenarios?
1) Restart all pega application servers.
2) Restart impacted nodes (if they are unreachable from other nodes)
3) any other suggestions?

Restart all app servers is the cleanest way. I know some enterprise clients utilizing some 3rd party solution (e.g., Websphere) to allow seamless system availability with standby DB, which automatically kicks in when the main db is down. But that is totally managed by Websphere app server layer, not Pega code.
