Adding compression to the database will it impact app performance
Just wanted to do an Inquiry, DBA team suggested to have compression set to the application database, wanted to understand if there is an impact to the performance for the pega RSM application.
We are in Oraas db cloud server and Oracle Database

Not sure what you are trying to get to. However, any impact whether CPU or otherwise will obviously have a cascading effect on your application.

Go through the below link, provides more information on the database compression to reduce the disk storage.
Anyway, the compression in database will definitely have an impact on the server CPU processing. Alternatively, the better approach is to have an archival strategy.

Thanks Sandeep for quick turn around, so you conclusive to say that we should not enable compression in application oraas database rite.Which may impact CPU processing? Does it impact the performance from the application perspective?

Thanks Again sandeep, just trying to understand, i went through the article provided, i am trying to find the reason how the compression to db will impact to CPU processing and Application performance. Can you clarify. I mean in what way.
