How to switch to using RM 8.8 for distributing Automation Packages instead of Package Server
We are trying to upgrade from Pega Robotic Automation 19.1 to the new version 22.1.
In our current version of Robot Manager 8.7.2, we are using Package Server, and it is Live.
Since the package server is no longer supported in the new 22.1 version, we would need some assistance to migrate seamlessly into the new method of using repository.

@HarikrishnanV9629This would be a question best posed to your Pega Cloud contacts as they can tell you what the storage limitations (if any) are and ensure you have enough storage. The package storage is relatively minor compared to other things, so I assume even a reasonable amount of free space would suffice. When I have setup my own labs, I have used the default store without issue, but I certainly would recommend you discuss this with your Pega Cloud contacts to be certain.

@HarikrishnanV9629 You will need to re-deploy all of your packages. You will not be able to migrate them to the repository. You'll want to do this anyway as you upgrade them to 22.1. The first step is to configure a repository in the Pega Platform. After that is configured, you then edit your Application Settings to point your Pega Application (the one that is built on Pega Robot Manager) to the new repository. Afterwards, you should connect your 22.1 Studio to Pega Robot Manager. Since 22.1 has no option for using the package server, it will send the package data along with the metadata about the package when it is deployed.

Thank you, Thomas. You helped us last year with an SOW at our org. Hope you are doing well, and glad to see you here. Ours is a Pega Cloud deployment, but for RPA, we have the Package Server hosted in a Windows server on-premise.
In the pega platform, I can see four Repositories all created by Pega. Thinking if we can use one of the already-provided default repositories. Would there be any restrictions?
1. PEGACLOUDCUSTOMERROOT 2. PEGACLOUDFILESTORAGE - i guess this is for storing file attachments. 3. PEGACLOUDREPOSITORY - We are okay to use this repository rather than create a separate one. Is there any restriction to using this to store automation packages? 4. defaultstore
