how to get null values last in report definition sort when coloumn sort is highest to lowest?
Hi All,
I have report definition created with list of columns to fetch by joining the another table.
I am returning null when the input in null from the joined table,and I am sorting the same column from highest to lowest.
The report definition results sorted like null values on top and then highest to lowest.
How to get null value's in last in the report definition results.

Hi Veerendra,
try using calculation builder for that column to replace Null value with 0. so you will get those results in the last.

Thanks for your suggestion Geetha,
it was like that before, Now my requirement was changed to when there is zero it should return zero, if there is a null, it should return null.
I created a function to return null when the column value is null, due to that the records with null values are displaying first and then sort from highest to lowest.
Looking for solution on this.

The order in which null values are sorted is not specified in SQL, so the results will not be deterministic. On different databases, they will be sorted differently.
For instance:
on MS SQL Server, ORDER BY … ASC will give you nulls first
on Oracle, ORDER BY … ASC will give you nulls last
You could use a function alias to substitute a value for null that you know will come last in your sort.

If you are using a Data page and sourcing this RD, you can achieve this requirement by keeping Sort on Date property in the response DT of the Data Page.
