How to create subcase on click of button in parent case and also open it
Hello,
Have a requirement where on click of button in parent case , a subcase should get created and it should also open up.

Hi,
Please check the below steps to create a service case from a service case, hope that will help to resolve your query:
- Use 'Call createWorkPage' to create WorkPage, note: step page would be some temp page(not pyWorkPage)
- Then set required properties in that WorkPage
- Then 'Call AddWork' to create the work object.
- Finality use the assignment key from the WorkPage to open the service case

In the case type rule of the parent, you can check the 'Manual Instantiation' option for the child case type. This will add an item in the Actions menu for the user to add work and create the child case. When we click the case item here it will launch sub case. You can adjust your code accordingly by seeing the ootb add work menu item!!

Hello,
I am trying this approach. I have a Case Type A, and a Case Type B. Case B is child of Case A. I set Manual Instantiation for Case B. Now, I have a Section on Case A, where I want to create (and open) a child Case B on click of a button. I used the Action "Create Work", and set Case B Class. This creates and opens a Case B, but it is not child of Case A! There is no pyWorkCover or ParentID, no data propagation...
How can I make it so that, when I click on the button, Case B will be created as a child of Case A?

Hello,
Using a script on click of button helped serve the purpose.
Script - "pega.ui.HarnessActions.addFlowFromActionsMenu"
It takes 2 parameters - flowType & flowClass
flowType - Configure a flow in parent case class & use Create Case smart shape to create child cases.
flowClass - class of parent case where flow is created.
