Generate PDF/A-3 documents from Pega
We are trying to generate PDF/A format documents in our application which have embedded attachments. OOTB activity HTMLToPDF supports a parameter pyPDFGeneratePDFA to generate PDF/A format documents but it uses quite old PD4ML library for this. The generated document is in PDF/A-1 version and that doesn't support embedded attachments.
Is there a way to generate PDF/A-3 documents from Pega which support embedded attachments. Is any enhancement being done in this area of Pega platform in coming releases

pd4ml is a third party library, most of the time we don't have much control on the features which are shared by pd4ml. However if you can share your PRPC version, I can confirm if this behaviour is planned to have some enhancement in future.

We are using 7.2.2 and planning to Upgrade to 7.2 quite soon. And we are relying on the pdf generation library/code available OOTB in Pega. Any information in terms on any plan for enhancement in this area in Pega platform would help us plan how to take this topic forward.

I think there is a typo there, I hope you mean upgrading from 7.2 to 7.2.2.
I have checked in 7.3 I have generated PDF from 7.3 and saw below info present on document properties window.

Sorry for the typo. I meant we are planning upgrade from 7.2.2 to 7.3. Could you clarify if you tried generating PDF or PDF/A in 7.3 and this version 1.4 if for PDF or PDF/A.

I believe I tried generating PDF and not PDF/A as you say specifically. To make sure we are on same page, If you can share the steps how you are testing generating PDF/A doc, I will test it on 7.3 and confirm you.
