FSIF 7.1.1 and FSSCM 7.1.2 - Are these two frameworks compatible with PRPC 7.1.8? In our application we are upgrading from PRPC 6.1 to 7.1.8 and the PRPC 6.1 application uses both of these frameworks with versions as FSIF in 7.1.1 and FSSCM in 6.1 version
FSIF 7.1.1 and FSSCM 7.1.2 - Are these two frameworks compatible with PRPC 7.1.8?
In our application we are upgrading from PRPC 6.1 to 7.1.8 and the PRPC 6.1 application uses both of these frameworks with versions as FSIF in 7.1.1 and FSSCM in 6.1 versions currently.
Now FSSCM is planned for upgrade to 7.1.2, so please confirm if FSIF 7.1.1 and FSSCM 7.1.2 framework combination would be compatible with PRPC 7.1.8.
Please confirm at the earliest.

check the pdn installation guide here: https://collaborate.pega.com/question/service-case-manager-financial-services-721-installation-issue. The one for 7.1.2 says the most current PRPC version at the time, so in theory it should be compatible with 7.1.8. In fact the latest version 7.1.4 does require 7.1.8 and above. Any reason not to upgrade to the latest version?

The Current configuration is :
PRPC 6.1 SP2
FSSCM 6.1
We also have FSIF 7.1.1 now which we want to retain due to some dependency on our application code and as it is a prerequisite of FSSCM 7.1.2.
FSSCM 7.1.2 has FSIF 7.1.1 in prerequisite so we thought to use 7.1.2 of PegaFSSCM. Also it is proposed by Client.
What we are trying to propose based on facts mentioned in release doc/installation guide is
PRPC 7.1.8
FSSCM 7.1.2 with prerequisite as FSIF 7.1.1
Would that be compatible/supported?
Please confirm.

Why wouldn't they upgrade to the latest versions of FSIF v7.15 and SCMFS v7.1.4 since they are both compatible with Pega 7.1.8?

Robert Murray thanks for the quick reply. Are there any compelling reasons that can convince the client to upgrade? You can see some of the reasons from the reply from Arpita above. Arpita Das can you elaborate? I guess we still need to answer his question, is the suggested setup working or not?

Hi Robert,
This is Arpita from Default workflow project we worked together at Lewisville, TX.
I understood the suggestions you provided for working on the latest versions.
But Client wants confirmation on a specific aspect.
In this application, the issue is,
Client already have a FSIF 7.1.1 being referred from a 7.1.8 and 7.1.6 applications of PRPC.
Now Client is too rigid about two things:
- Retaining FSIF 7.1.1
- Secondly upgrade a 6.1 SP2 PRPC version to PRPC 7.1.8
Which means they have an existing architecture of FSIF 7.1.1 and they want us to just migrate to the same when upgrading PRPC 6.1 to PRPC version 7.1.8.
Keeping these in mind can PegaFSSCM 7.1.2 be proposed along with above two in this scenario? so that the proposed combination is

PRPC version 7.1.8
PegaFSSCM 7.1.2
Will that cause any practical issues related to compatibility.
Please note about the factors I mentioned which Client wants to stick to.

Hi Arpita, how have you been? How's your family and where are you living these days? I see you are with Accenture now. Who's the customer for this request?
SCMFS 7.1.2 is compatible with FSIF 7.1.1 and they are both compatible with Pega 7.1.4 or later. They will not incorporate any new features beyond Pega 7.1.4 however and haven't been tested this combination of versions but will guarantee that it works. If you run into any problems please submit a support ticket and we'll look into it. I still recommend however to upgrade to the latest versions to obtain the latest features.
Thanks,
Robert

Thanks Robert.
Hope you are doing great!!
Yes I have joined Accenture recently.
So as per your response we can propose them to upgrade to latest version but at the same time can mention that the combination below is compatible and supposed to work:
PRPC 7.1.8, FSIF 7.1.1, FSSCM 7.1.2
Now I have compared the change in ruleset stacks between PegaFSSCM version 6.x with PegaFSSCM version 7.1.2:
In FSSCM 6.1 we had rulesets like Pega-LuceneSearch, SCM and SCMInt, but these are no more present in FSSCM 7.1.2.
Where from these rulessets are getting referred from currently?
Could you /someone guide on the same?
Regards,
Arpita

There are some significant changes between 6.1 and 7.1 versions. The SCM horizontal has been removed from sale as a independent product and only packaged with vertical versions. Lucene was replaced and is no longer supported. But SCM or SCMInt are still there but called PegaSCM and PegaSCMInt. You will need to go through the documentation for Pega, FSIF and SCMFS and compare to the features the customer is using to incorporate those changes to their environment. If you need some assistance with this analysis let me know but we can take that offline from this conversation.
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert sorry as my question was little incorrect.
I have three questions:
- In PegaFSSCM 6.1 we are having PegaSCMInt and PegaSCM. Are they still retained in PegaFSSCM 7.1.2, if yes then why in the list of installed rulesets to verify in the installation guide for PegaFSSCM 7.1.2, we are not seeing those two rulesets.
2)If possible can you mention if any ruleset is missing which was present in FSSCM 6.1 and not in FSSCM 7.1.2.
3) What is the built on application for PegaFSSCM 7.1.2.
Kindly clarify.

Arpita

Arpita,
My reference system for 7.1.2 is currently down to compare to and I don't have one for 6.1 to compare to. Can you post screenshots to the mesh site or send them to me of the application stack? Once I get our 7.1.2 instance up I'll take screenshots as well and send to you.
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert
PegaFSSCM 6.1 as per implementation guide is showing the following rulesets:
PegaFSSCM:01-02-01
PegaFSRequirements:01-01-60
PegaFS:01-03-75
PegaFSInt:01-03-75
PegaLuceneSearch:01-01-25
PegaIFW:01-01-06
PegaRequirements:01-01-98
PegaSCM:06-02-xx
PegaSCMInt:06-02-xx
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
whereas PegaFSSCM 7.1.2 is showing the following:
PegaFSSCM:07-12-99
PegaNPVCalc:07-12-99
PegaLoanPmtCalc:07-12-99
PegaFSUI:07-10-99
PegaFWUI:07-10-99
Pega-DecisionArchitect:07-10-10
Pega-DecisionEngine:07-10-10
We want to know why PegaSCM and PegaSCMInt is no longer present in the ruleset stack of PegaFSSCM 7.1.2?
Though you mentioned they are present then from where they are referred if not in the stack of FSSCM 7.1.2?
