Extracting Attachments Using BIX 2.1 Version for PRPC 5.1
Hi Team,
How to Extract Attachments Using BIX 2.1 Version (PRPC 5.1). I tried Extracting Attachments which are Encoded Format in to CSV File, but it Failed.
As PRPC 5.1 doesn't have Connect-File Implemented so no option of Decoding and Saving the Attachments in to a External Folder..
And also the Target DB Version is 12c and Source DB Version Oracle 10g. So Driver Compatability Issues.
So Pls suggest any process of Extracting Attachments.

BIX will extract the property value as is. You can extract the attachment's encoded value into a column in the target database or as a XML element or a CSV column. BIX will not convert it to the actual attachment file and put it in the extract folder.
That said, is there any issue while extracting the encoded value to csv failing? If yes, please provide the failure logs.

Thank you very much for the reply, actually i tried extracting the encoded valued using bix, but outofmemorry issue came and server got struck, As the encoded value is of large size. if i try to extract the value to csv value , its not getting extracted.
if you have any other way pls provide a solution

You might want to look at doing something like this:
1. Iterate (OBJ-BROWSE) over instances of the LINK-ATTACHMENT class
2. For each instance returned; use the pxLinkedRefTo property (and possibly the 'pxLinkedClassTo') to perform an 'OBJ-OPEN-BY-HANDLE'
3. The property pyAttachStream will hold the base64 encoding of the attachment; using a Java Step (probably) - convert this to a Byte Stream; save it using the PRFile API.

Also: you might find this post of some use - which deals with attachments (to zip them up in that case), which is possibly close to your requirement ? (Or at least some of them).

I went through the above post and It was very helpful, but tools.sendfile() is not present as part of java api.
If I want to implement connect-file. is there any way.
