We have recently had one of our instances change behavior. On startup, it hangs for about 10 minutes on the part where it is doing the extract of Rule-Utility-Library rules (about 30 seconds on other instances). Once it finally gets started, everything runs much slower than usual, including the IDE itself, and processing that we are trying to do. We are looking for any possible solutions or places to check for hints as to what might be going on.
It may be that the PegaTemp (cache directory) has been cleared, meaning the system is busy rebuilding this directory on startup (this should settle down once the cache is built-up though): look for PEGA005s (DB times) in particular.
Another possibilty (on it's own or in combination with the above) could be that if a deployment has been made recently: then the system may also have to rebuild some Databae Table caches: look for PEGA0037s in the alerts for an indication as to whether this is occuring or not.
If there is nothing obvious in the alerts that you can find: GCS can assist : create an SR, provide the Alerts, PegaRules : and ideally the App Server logs that cover the period including PRPC startup. If you have GC logging switched on as well: please provide the GC logs.
