Extract Marker File and Cache. How to clear cache from the memory?

Hello guys,

Can any one explain me the significance of cache memory available in PRPC and how it can be cleared(mention all possible ways). Also educate me with explanation to Extract Marker File and its significance in cache clearance?

Any real life example would be of great help!!
