Error changing property length
Hello,
Please tell me why I can not increase the length of the variable to 17?
The database changed the value after which the server was restarted.

Hi,
In the screenshot that you have provided, I could see that the property has been exposed. The length of the exposed properties will be set as default.
Thanks,

Assuming , earlier the property length was 13, now you are increasing to 17.
After the property length update(database changes), do test connection on the database class (XXXXX- data-polis)and save it.
After that check the property, how it works

Hi Aleksei,
You need to open the class from the Application explorer.
Expand ClassName >> Sysadmin >> Class
and click on class.
At the bottom the general tab of the class, you can find test connectivity button

Hi ,
This is actually an expected behavior. We will not be able increase the max length of an exposed property, you can only decrease the max length.
I tried few different scenarios to understand the behavior.
1. I mentioned a max-length and then optimized the property. After that I was not able to increase the max-length.
2. I mentioned a max-length ,then optimized the property and then altered the DB column. After that I was not able to increase the max-length of property.
3. I optimized the property without max-length mentioned (In DB the length of the property was 32 char by default for text property) and after that I was able to mention a value in max-length.
4. I optimized the property without max-length mentioned and after that I mentioned a value in max-length. After that I was not able to increase the value.
5. I mentioned a max-length ,then optimized the property and then deleted the DB column. After that I was able to increase the max-length of property.
In all the above cases I was allowed to decrease the value.
If you do not feel like deleting the column you can unoptimize the property by following the series of steps followed as in the below link.
