Drop down / pop-up menu does not go away in chrome when the focus is shifted (PEGAv7.1.7)

For a PEGA 7.1.7 application, the drop down or pop-up menus does not go away even when the focus is shifted out.

This happens even for the Designer Studio menus.

Please suggest a way to get rid of this issue.

SA-24220, https://collaborate.pega.com/question/drop-down-pop-menu-does-not-go-away-chrome-when-focus-shifted-pegav717, provides a local change for Chrome (disable touchscreen chrome://flags/#touch-events).
