Does Pega have OOTB Viewer for MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)?
Hi GCS,
Does Pega have OOTB Viewer for MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio)? The expectation is to have an OOTB viewer similar to what a typical ECM viewer does - viewing of documents inline without downloading and also able to edit, comment, annotate, etc.
I understand that this could be achieved by embedding 3rd party viewers, but I need to know if there exists such an OOTB viewer from Pega TODAY. If not, may I know if this is in the roadmap?

No, I am relatively sure there are no OOTB such features in the product today. The closest one I can think of is a little known and really old feature/control, WordTextArea (which should not be confused with Word merge).
That control has the capability to embed a Word document on the UI. But I am not aware of any other controls for the other Office types you mentioned.
Regarding the roadmap [for new features], that is something GCS cannot speak to. A product manager would need to chime in for any official word. Alternatively, this is a discussion you can have with your account executive offline.
