DataTableRecordEditor section in data type records
Hello everyone.
I have such a problem: when we had Pega 7.1.8 there was a section DataTableRecordEditor in class Data- with availablity Available and we had an opportunity to override this section to create any UI for editing data type records. 
Pega 7.2.2 doesn't have this rule in UI hierarchy. There is a Final section pzRecordEditor instead.
So, since Pega 7.2.2 we are not able to create a custom UI for data type records, but we need to.
Is there any ready-made solution for this situation?

I've got an answer from Pega Support team:
Shipping the gadget as a non-final Rule was an oversight from Pega. This should Rule should have been final. Making custom changes to the Gadget after it has been shipped by Pega will definitely lead to loss of future functionality. This may also lead to rendering the editor unstable and unusable.
Pega cant make this reusable as customizations to the table editor Shipped in Pega7, there is no way for Pega to ship enhancements to the table editor which is an integral part of Pega Express.
The workaround followed by previous customer :
"Customer wish make extensive changes to the table editor, it is recommend they build a new landing page that does that. They can add a new menu item called something like “Custom Data Editor” that will bring up the display they want."

I tried searching for the rule DataTableRecordEditor in Pega 7.2.2 and we do have the rule. Please find the attached image.
Kindly provide us the screen shot when you do a search of "DataTableRecordEditor" in Pega 7.2.2.

Hi Gowri,
I'm not saying that rule doesn't exist. But it doesn't appear in UI hierarchy. Please take a look at the screenshots attached and especially LiveUI part.
This is the difference. Final pzRecordEditor instead of DataTableRecordEditor.

Hi,
I just checked this at my end.
I see that it was possible to make changes in Pega 7.1.8 to the Records tab of the data type rule because the section DataTableRecordEditor was available.
However, in Pega 7.2.2, as per the current design this will not be possible as the section pzRecordEditor is final. There is not way to override this section as all the rules involved are marked final.
The functionality of both the sections DataTableRecordEditor and pzRecordEditor are similar but customising the UI for data type records is not possible in Pega 7.2.2.

Hi Gisela,
Yes, I see that every section is final in Pega 7.2.2.
It means that functionality based on DataTableRecordEditor created in Pega 7.1.8 doesn't work anymore because of these changes. And what about backwards compatibility?

Hi All,
We have the above scenario and we customized that section as we are using Pega 7.1.7 . But We are facing other issue.
The filter option of the datatype record is not working . No values are getting displayed when we click on filter. only checkboxes are displayed.
Can anyone help me resolve the issue.
