CustomerService For Financial Services compatibility between 07.21 and 07.31
Hi,
in our environment we have currently installed the strategic application CustomerService For Financial services 07.21 which is referenced by our enterprise application CBEnterprise that is then shared by other applications.
App A 01.01.01 --> CBEnterprise 01.01.01 -> CustomerServiceForFS 07.21
App B 01.01.01 --> CBEnterprise 01.01.01 -> CustomerServiceForFS 07.21
For business reason we would like to upgrade to CustomerService For Financial services 07.31 only for App B (without modifying App A)
App A 01.01.01 --> CBEnterprise 01.01.01 -> CustomerServiceForFS 07.21
App B 01.02.01--> CBEnterprise 01.02.01 -> CustomerServiceForFS 07.31
Is the before mentioned solution possible? Can the two framework versions coexist on the same platform without conflicts or do we need to upgrade also App A. Are there any incompatible changes in the new framework's DDL (included the sample application)

No, you can't go with above-mentioned upgrade directly.
To answer next question, we can't have two framework versions co-exists on the same platform. You need to upgrade both the application present in the environment.

Once you upgrade the framework to CustomerServiceForFS 07.31, there will be new ruleset stack containing upgraded or additional rules present. As both the apps are on the same base framework, they will use the upgraded stack of code for CustomerServiceForFS 07.31 rather CustomerServiceForFS 07.21.

Hi Asif,
thanks a lot for your clarification; just a final doubt. Probably I am wrong but according to my understanding installing a new framework means adding a new application in the stack (not removing the old one); in our case CustomerServiceForFS 07.31. The old application should be still there, so, if I keep referencing it from an old application I should still point to the rulesets list defined in the application 07.21. Where am I wrong? Does this mean that installing an upgrade of a Strategic application I override some rulesets /datainstances of the previous version?
