Convert HTML or EXCEL to PDF
Hi,
There is a requirement to convert HTML and Excel to PDF.
Is there an API to convert ?
I know the excel may have so many columns that the format won't be preserved, but just want to know if there is a feature in Pega.

Depending on how complex/consistent your EXCEL inputs are: consider parsing the input EXCEL files into a PRPC Model : meaning that once you have read in the EXCEL files (the harder part probably): you are then faced with the relatively easier task of outputing HTML (which can then be further converted easily with HTMLTOPDF) using PRPC HTML rules.
PRPC ships with Apache POI - which is a library capable of reading (and writing) EXCEL files; additionally there are some OOTB PRPC Activities for reading/writing EXCEL files - for instance : MSOParseExcelFile which may be of some use - note that MSOParseExcelFile is written specifically for assisting with some OOTB PRPC Wizards : but I have seen that many people have managed to use this as a basis for their own customizations as well.
Also : maybe this Post : Create a Data Page: Access it over REST, Create a PDF..... might have some useful stuff here for you : it shows how to create a DATA PAGE; and then output as an EXCEL and/or PDF.
(It does NOT deal with parsing EXCEL I'm afraid - but it does show how to hold the data in a PRPC Model which means it can easily be re-used for different output formats).
