CMIS_Documents folder in pega temp folder

Hi All - We noticed that documents downloaded from CMIS repository is loaded into folder "CMIS_Documents" inside temp folder. Can you help to understand what is the purpose of this? 

Is there a cleanup defined by PEGA on this folder?

Looked into this post which says this is created by PEGA. But need more info on usage and understanding on what can be the cleanup for this folder.
