Chrome: Designer studio refresh issue when portal is launched
Hi
I'm facing an issue which is very specific to Chrome browser.
When i launch any portal from designer studio and switch back to designer studio the entire webpage refreshes.. It does not occur with Mozilla.
Any idea on why this issue is happening?

Hello All,
As a result of the SR raised, HFix-28383 was issued. Please create an SR with Pega Support to obtain the same solution. The below article helps in raising the SR.
Raising Support Requests for Hotfixes now made easy!

Few questions in here to get more clarity -
1. Pega version ?
2. Switching back to the Designer studio you meant switching back to Desgnr studio browser tabs ?
3. Is the behaviour observed only for application specific portals or when you launch OOTB portals too?

I am facing the same issue as Avinash explained.
It started happening only after upgrading from 7.1.9 to 7.2.
We have other developers sharing the same server, no one else faces this issue.
Yes it means switching back to the designer studio browser tabs.
We have dev, sys , uat and prod environments.
It happens only in Dev env and only in my sysetm. All other environments are working fine in my system with the same google chrome version.
If I use my operator id from a different system, it works fine too.
Some of the steps I have followed but still has not resolved the issue:
- Clear browser, cookies cache.
- uninstall and reinstall chrome browser.
- delete operator id .
Observations:
- Incognito window also has the same issue.
- IE and Firefox in the same dev environment with the same operator id all works fine.
No obvious errors can be tracked in any of the logs. Couldn't find the actual root cause of the issue.

1. Can you capture tracer results & fiddler traces while launching the portal from Designer studio and switch back to designer studio tab where a refresh action occurs? Please attach the results for this use-case.
2. As it's happening only on chrome on one machine. Can you provide the exact chrome browser version?

I second sri.
The issue is with Pega 7.2 version when used in Chrome only.
Several other teams are also facing the same issue and its really painful to find the browser getting refreshed as soon as we switch to designer studio tab from our portal tab

1. Can you capture tracer results & fiddler traces while launching the portal from Designer studio and switch back to designer studio tab where a refresh action occurs? Please attach the results for this use-case.
2. As it's happening only on chrome on one machine. Can you provide the exact chrome browser version?

Chrome is on Version 50.0.2661.94

Hi Avinash,
Apologies for the late response. One of our SMEs recommended that this most likely be a bug and it is best if you could raise an SR with Pega GCS since this requires intensive investigation.
Please mention the URL of this discussion while creating the SR and let us know the SR number here once you finish creating it. Thus, connecting the two for easier troubleshooting.
