Chinese characters from text file are getting saved as symbols/question marks into database table
I am using Parse Delimited rule to parse a text file. Whereever, there are chinese characters in the content, those are getting saved as symbols into database table
I have tried changing character encoding in the Service file rule and tested, which does not help. Can someone, please suggest how can I save chinese characters into database table?
PRPC version is 6.3 SP1

After adding below configuration in JVM in Generic JVM arguments,
-Dclient.encoding.override=UTF-8
-Dfile.encoding=UTF-8
we are able to save chinese characters

I suggest below steps to diagnose the problem.
1.1 use a browser to open the text file to detect the encoding being used. If using Chrome, you can find the encoding being used by clicking menu -> more tools -> encoding.
1.2 use the detected encoding to parse the text file and check the parsing result in the Clipboard is correct. (If Chinese characters are not displayed correctly, make sure your client machine's OS does support Chinese fonts.)
2.1 by manually executing an insert statement, insert a record that contains Chinese characters to the table where you observe question mark instead of Chinese character.
2.2 execute select statement to see if those Chinese characters got saved in the table correctly. If they didn't get saved, you need to contact your DBA.
If there is no problem to select and display Chinese character by executing select statement,
3.1 try to display the record inserted manually at above step 2.1 on the screen, using your pega application.
3.2 If Chinese characters don't display correctly on the screen, contact your application server administrator to check if the JDBC setting uses a Chinese character compatible encoding.

I hope below steps can help in resolving this issue:
1.Set the encoding type as UTF-8 instead of Default on the service File method tab.
2.Run the app server with encoding type as UTF-8.

I'm using 5.5 version.May encounter the same issue in upcoming project.
can 5.5 support such local language parsing ?if yes ,what all changes we need to take care to handle Chinese chars.
I'll be getting some of the Chinese characters on web service call along with English chars.
