Case IDs getting increased by 1000 (v8.5.6)
Hello All
We just upgraded from 8.3 to 8.5.6. Noticed the Case Ids are getting increment by 1000 every day or after restart. As per Pega's recommendation we updated the DSS idGenerator/defaultBatchSize to 1. We did the restart after the change, but still see case Id's getting incremented by 1000. Can some one pls throw some light on what we are missing?

Hi @John Joseph: Are you facing this issue during the first restart after the DSS update or all subsequent restarts have the same issue?
Hope you have created the DSS with Owning ruleset: Pega-RULES.

If you have plans to update batch size, I would advise you to do so before you create the first case. This is because, if you update Dynamic System Settings after case creation, pyLastReservedID is updated to 1000 anyways, and when the app node is restarted or user connects to other node, system will create 1001 regardless of the value in Dynamic System Settings.
In such situation, update the pyLastReservedID to have the correct value to reflect the change

Once this is understood, I am pretty sure you would be able to fix the issue as well.
