Can't we Pass Custom Date Format in pega

Hello,

I am trying to pass Custom Date format through. I am using DateTime PEGA OOTB Control. When i try to use Read-Only-Format Custom option it not picking the value from Clipboard.

Is that something pega doesnot support?

I even tried passing the values in different ways but pega is not Saving that rule now. 

First Way: 

<pega:reference name="pyWorkPage.UserDateFormat" >

Second Way: 

<% tools.findPage("pyWorkPage").getProperty("UserDateFormat").getStringValue()%>
