Can SMA be installed/Configured without PRPC
We are having multiple PRPC nodes in our environment and we are planning to setup SMA on a different server. Do we need to install PRPC on the node where we setup SMA or deploying prsysmgmt.war is good enough?

SMA works with extension capability of JMX and it interacts with the node through JMX Mbeans object.
So you Can install SMA in a non PRPC node ,only thing you need to remember for this is you need to connect PRPC node remotely .
If you want to know what are all the Mbeans exist in Pega Application you can check it through jconsole .

Hi Manju,
You don't need to have the PRPC application being deployed in your server in order to deploy the pysysmgmt.war file as it not dependent on the prweb.war or ear file.

Thanks Mahesh. We are using Pega 7.2.2 version. Can you let me know if you have any related documentation to configure this way?

As i see there is no specific document for this kind of implementation, you can follow the same process which was followed earlier in the installation guide. So you can look into the installation document which had followed and configure the diagnostic user in your tomcat where you try to deploy sma.

You can directly deploy the prsysmangement war file at your server.
Since we are discouraging SMA and promoting an in-built monitoring wizard, there isn't any latest document on SMA for Pega 7.2.2. Though you can refer it:- https://collaborate.pega.com/discussion/configure-system-management-application-sma
You can leverage SMA features. Navigate to Designer Studio > System > Operations > Different Options. Refer below,
Hope it answers your query. Kindly notify if it does.
