Calling External URL/Site from Pega.

Hello Everyone

 We are running 8.6.3 version of Pega Marketing.

I have 2 questions regarding "invoking/calling" external URL/Webpages from Pega

1. What is the best practice to invoke external URL from Pega/Pega-UI

2. The external URL should be able to exchange (pega->external URL AND external URL->Pega)  information with Pega.
