Bet practice to upgrade from pega 8.2.4 to pega 8.8

Hi,

 

One of our customers has pega 8.2.4 installed with JBoss and MS SQL server, we want to migrate to pega 8.8

What is the best practice?

is it better to use Tomcat instead of JBoss?

is it better to migrate to pega 8.7 than to pega 8.8?

Any requirements must be done before?

What is the best practice?

-> perform out of  place upgrade. 

-> perform upgrade of lower environment first  and proceed to higher env.

-> Upgrade to latest GA Pega version.

is it better to use Tomcat instead of JBoss?

-> As per documentation, "Beginning in Pega Platform 8.8, all application servers – except Tomcat - will be deprecated." If there is an option, prefer tomcat server.

is it better to migrate to pega 8.7 than to pega 8.8?

-> It is recommended to upgrade to latest GA version. Pega 8.8.x is the latest version.
