Autocomplete Allow free-form input behavior [7.3]

Pega 7.3 online help says about autocomplete "Select the Allow free-form input check box to allow users to enter values that are not part of the autocomplete source list", but when not selected the checkbox I can still enter values that are not part of the autocomplete source list. Is this expected behavior?

Hi Jun,

I checked the behaviour reported by you and facing the same .As in previous version of PRPC also, we were able to enter any data and save that So need to understand why the checkbox has been provided.

I feel you can raise a discussion on Mesh or can create an SR or can directly report this to the Engineering Team.

It seems to validate if sourced from 'defined on property', but no other occasions.
